Welcome to Africa for Christ Bible College (AFCBC)
When you sign up for Africa for Christ Bible (AfCBC) training, you will have taken an important spiritual step. AfCBC is an independent non-denominational Christian Education institution under the oversight of a Board of Trustees. The college is registered with the ministry of Higher Education and offers a number of programs in Theological studies. Undergraduate and post-graduate studies in BA Theology, Master of Divinity and PhD are offered also by the college through our affiliate University. Our programs are designed to transform society through individuals who learn through a combination of block release and distance education.
The main advantage of distance learning is that it allows you to fit your studies around your work, ministry and home life. Block release programs give an opportunity for physical interaction with other students which is important for relational growth. It is your decision as to when and where you study. Your studies are not limited by space or distance. A distance learning course costs less than a full-time course as there are no travel,
accommodation or other associated costs. A day or two per week, you meet for tutorials with your lecturers and other students online. The success of your experience also rests in your willingness to pass on to others what you learn. (II Timothy 2:2)
Our modules are tailor made to meet the contemporary context in which the church exists in. Never settle for less than the final objective for which God has called you to serve.
Thank you for joining the College.
Professor Augustine Deke
(Africa for Christ Bible College)
The College was established in 1987 in Zimbabwe by United Apostolic Faith Church (UAFC) with the intention of meeting the training needs of the church in Southern Africa. In 2016 the vision to train the greater constituency of the body of Christ was born and AfCBC officially transformed into non-denominationalism under the oversight of a Board of Trustees. The majority of leaders needing training in the 21st century cannot afford to go on campus for a long period at the expense of ministry or work. The concept of setting up an open training institution was then birthed so as to allow Christians to get their training while doing the work of ministry at the same time.
The College desires to network between denominations, churches, organizations, and nations to raise leaders for the body of Christ. It is to this purpose that Africa for Christ Bible College is dedicated, to recruit and train future leaders for the body of Christ.
The curriculum takes students beyond teaching to training where fieldwork is required. The participation to which students are challenged is that of spiritual reproduction within the communities they minister. While much focus will be on spiritual growth and productivity, AfCBC aims to promote a culture of research and marketplace cadres. Students are encouraged to think outside the box. We are not in competition with the traditional church doctrine but our training is for those who have been searching for transformative Christian education.
AfCBC equips students with sound ministry and theological skills to enable continued church growth and sustainability. The College also aims to move the church from observation to demonstration, harvest and transformation of society.
“Equipping the Saints for the work of the Ministry”
The vision and purpose of AfCBC is to equip the body of Christ through timely, cost effective training. We desire to serve the church through capacity and leadership development.
Statement of Faith
We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments in their original writing as fully inspired of God and accept them as the supreme and final authority for faith and life.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Ghost born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.
We believe that God created man in His own image; that man sinned and thereby incurred the penalty of death, physical and spiritual; that all human beings inherit a sinful nature which issues in actual transgression involving personal guilt.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, a substitutionary sacrifice, according to the Scriptures, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus, His ascension into heaven and His present life as our High Priest and Advocate.
We believe in the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.
We believe in the resurrection both of the just and the unjust, the eternal blessedness of the redeemed and the eternal banishment of those who have rejected the offer of salvation.
We believe that the one true Church is the whole company of those who have been redeemed by Jesus Christ and regenerated by the Holy Spirit; that the local Church on earth should take its character from this conception of the Church spiritual, and therefore that the new birth and personal confession of Christ are essentials of Church membership, and that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ appointed two ordinances – Baptism and the Lord’s Supper – to be observed as acts of obedience and as perpetual witnesses to the cardinal facts of the Christian faith; that Baptism is the immersion of the believer in water as a confession of the identification with Christ in burial and resurrection, and that the Lord’s Supper is the partaking of bread and wine as symbolical of the Saviour’s body and shed blood, in remembrance of Him till He come.
